Wounding and Healing: Finding A Way Forward
In my experience, both in my personal life and as a professional who has worked in mental health for over three decades, some injuries are too traumatic to simply "get over."  In therapy I create a safe and compassionate space so you can address unhealed wounds and access the part of you that knows how to heal. I work with adult individuals who are struggling with past or present trauma, depression, or anxiety, as well as people facing life transitions or seeking to understand themselves at a deeper level.
Beyond traditional therapy modalities, I bring knowledge and skills from more than 40 years teaching and practicing Reiki, an ancient Japanese energy-based healing art, and the Tarot.

Diversity
Sometimes the issues that surface in therapy involve the effects of sociocultural biases, questions of meaning or identity, unwanted patterns in relationships, or unresolvable grief. My sensitivity to the issues clients bring whose lives have been or are affected by subtle or overt prejudice is informed by my experiences of parenting my biracial children and by my own healing of my experiences of abuse as a woman.  For clients who have been hurt by bias against their race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation, therapy helps you heal wounds to your sense of self and reclaim your own identity.

Wilderness Therapy
Wilderness therapy supports movement through self-judgment into self-respect and self-care rooted in the on-the-ground experience of self-acceptance, compassion, and self-worth.  In our connection to and practices in nature, we deepen in the intersection between soul, body, earth, and cosmos, find ourselves moved and supported by that which is inviolable and authentic in our own nature.  In the wilderness we meet all around us and in ourselves the renewing cycles of birth, death, and rebirth. Taking therapy into the natural world, Dennis and I hold a safe and supportive space rites of passage into deepened and embodied self-knowledge and new phases of life.  Doing this work, we have been witness to transformations in ourselves and in others at every level  -- mind, heart, soul, and body.

Teaching and Writing
In addition to facilitating women's retreats since 2018, I co-led a monthly Jungian learning circle from 2011-2018 and have presented at the Jung Association for Scholarly Studies, the Jung Association of Central Ohio, and Phoenix Friends of C.G. Jung, Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Fe Jung Institute, and (upcoming) the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. I edited the Spring 2012 issue of Depth Insights Scholarly Ezine, collaborated on and edited Alchemy, Jung, and Remedios Varo: Cultural Complexes and the Redemptive Power of the Abjected Feminine (by Dennis Pottenger, Routledge, 2022) and the  upcoming The Jungian Psychology of White Privilege: Colin Kaepernick, the NFL Anthem Protests, and the Eliminationist Violence of the White Self (Dennis Pottenger, Routledge, 2026), and edited Uncovering the Act of Maternal Infanticide from a Psychological, Political, and Jungian Perspective (Brooke Laufer, Routledge, 2025). I serve as a Thesis Advisor for Pacifica Graduate Institute Counseling Psychology Master's Thesis students and editor for depth psychology dissertations.
